He ran his own vertically integrated company that developed more than 5,000 apartments and owned office, retail, and hotel properties around the United States. That company was the property manager of the properties it owned. Mr. Mantell also has extensive experience in real estate finance. He founded a national multi-family lender and headed the commercial mortgage-backed securities division of a global investment bank. In addition, with respect to distressed debt, Mr. Mantell has renegotiated hundreds of millions in loans with dozens of financial institutions, and oversaw debt management regarding the multi-billion dollar non-performing commercial mortgage portfolio of an international bank.
