On the distress side, Mr. Mantell’s early experience renegotiating real estate loans with dozens of institutions in the 1980’s and his later role overseeing the multi-billion dollar non-performing commercial mortgage portfolio of Barclays Bank was expanded during our successful loan renegotiations of size, for multiple clients in diverse industries, from passenger transportation, to real estate development, to low-income housing. Regarding loan origination, Mr. Mantell has arranged investment bank lines of credit as high as $250MM for entities he controlled personally, obtained dozens of real estate construction and acquisition financings for entities controlled by him and other wholly independent firms, and arranged institutional senior and mezzanine financings for corporate acquisitions. In addition, we have a proven record of creatively placing secured and unsecured debt for our individual clients at times when their current cash flows made those assignments difficult to achieve.
