Besides decades of experience negotiating corporate and real estate acquisitions, sales and liquidations, Mr. Mantell also has renegotiated corporate and real estate debt with dozens of financial institutions on behalf of borrowers, overseen several billion dollars of additional loan modifications on behalf of lenders, and brought consensus on the terms of innumerable partnership and limited liability company operating agreements, both as a principal and as an advisor to others.

A lifelong student of psychology, Mr. Mantell has studied intensely the nuances of the methodology of negotiating and mediating, and received advanced training on the subject from Harvard’s Center for Management Research. He has served as an Arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and has mediated many disputes, from the more modest intra-family matters of our advisees to large commercial litigations.

Our breadth of experience achieving accord between parties with disparate interests, even with seemingly irreconcilable differences, gives us the confidence to deal patiently but persistently with even the most combative of opposing parties. Our belief in openness, clearly articulated objectives, win-win solutions and respectful conduct despite potentially adverse interests, enables us to bring about agreement where other approaches and participants might not succeed.
